To Export to Oasys GSA - *.gwb Files

  1. (Optional) Create a selection set of the members you wish to export.
    Note: If no selection sets exist, then all Structural enabled elements in the file are exported.
  2. Select the Export to OasysGSA tool.

    The Export to OasysGSA dialog opens.

  3. Do one of the following:

    To automatically name the exported file, check Use DGN File + GSA Extension in the OasysGSA File options.

    or

    Un-check Use DGN File + GSA Extension to browse and select a target OasysGSA (*.gwb) file to export to.

  4. Enter the Job Data according to your company standards.
  5. Check Use Mapping File, and browse to select a mapping file.
    Note: Mapping files are delivered with OpenBuildings Station Designer, and are named using the analysis program name. Their function is to compare two lists of section data, and to map the OasysGSA sections to the corresponding sections in OpenBuildings Station Designer. They are located in the active dataset data folder:
  6. Enter a value for Number of Curve Facets.
    Note: The number of facets determines the accuracy of curved member representations in OasysGSA. The default value is 5.
  7. Check Use Design History. Design History tracks changes to a DGN file. Viewing details about the revision by using the controls on this tool.
  8. Click Export.
    Note: If the file already exists, you are prompted to Update or Overwrite. Update writes any changed/added members to the existing *.gwb file.
